Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

So, what is Thanksgiving all about?? Is it about the football?? What about the turkey?? Family time?? Hmmm..... Well, for me, it is all that and more. I love this time of year, as it is a wonderful time to ponder on all the wonderful things around us, and to reflect on all the many, many blessings that God has given to us. What an amazing time of the year this is!! But, since yall are probably going to hear about gratitude a ton this week, and throughout this holiday season, I thought I would talk about something else that is very near and dear to my heart.... Feasting!!

One of my most favorite holiday activities, and really all year round activities, is feasting! I LOVE food!! Some people might call me a "foodie". They are probably right. Everything about food is great, and the holiday season seems to have an extra helping of deliciousness and quantity to this already wonderful activity. What a simply delightful thing it is to sit down to a meal and just gorge yourself till you can't move. Probably not the healthiest thing in the world, but oh so enjoyable!

Just like gorging myself physically at holiday times, there is another type of gorging, and probably a much healthier counterpart - that being spiritually feasting. A scripture in the Book of Mormon states, "...Wherefore, I said unto you, feast upon the words of Christ; for behold, the words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do." (2 Nephi 32:3). Every morning, my companion and I spend about two hours, sitting down to a nice feast of scriptures, prayer, and good Gospel learning. There is nothing quite like it. And the best part is, you can can never really get too much, as well as there is always an unending supply of this type of nourishment.

Just like at Thanksgiving, I love to sample all the wonderful different types of food, so also I love sampling, and feasting upon the many delicious doctrines and mouth-watering words of Christ. And when I have tried out a doctrine that is especially applicable to me at that time, and something I could really use, I love to dive in, head first, and gobble up as much of it as I possibly can. As we sit down to feast this wonderful holiday season, let's not forget that we must always be feasting spiritually on the words of Christ.

I hope all yall enjoy your wonderful Thanksgiving and holiday season this year!!!! Eat well!!!
